Soaking your seeds?

Did you know that it is better for your health to soak your seeds, nuts and grains before eating them?

Nature has equipped all seeds, nuts and grains with nutritional inhibitors and toxic substances as a survival mechanism, until proper growing conditions are present. This means that the plants (nuts, seeds, grains) release toxic substances in order to survive, before they have the right conditions in their surroundings (eg. water) in order to sprout and grow. Soaking your seeds, nuts and grains can minimize these enzyme inhibitors, phytates (phytic acid), polyphenols (tannins), and goitrogens. 

Enzyme inhibitors can put a real strain on the human digestive mechanisms by clogging or denaturing an active site of digestive enzymes and metabolic enzymes. As little as seven hours of soaking in warm water will neutralize a large portion of these enzyme inhibitors in seeds and nuts.
